KFH - Internal sales meetings come before our customers

Postby gbell84 » Wed Dec 21, 2011 7:05 pm

Thought I would share with you my experience of KFH on NCR. My husband and I are currently renting off NCR and are in the process of looking to buy a property in the area. I am on maternity leave so am doing the majority of house hunting (now 1 day overdue!).

On Monday afternoon I set up an appointment to meet Jimmy from KFH at 3pm - it was wet and miserable on Monday and he turned up 20 minutes late (he called to say he had lost track of time and was sorry - I was pretty cold at this stage but said thats fine just hurry up). Everyone is late sometimes so no point getting annoyed.

He arrived at the property with no brochure. I couldnt view it properly as the lights were not turned on (bathrooms in darkness) and we couldnt go outside to see the shared garden. He had very little to say. I asked to arrange another appointment so my husband could view the property but he just started a new job so its difficult to get off early. We agreed an 8.30am appointment the next morning. So on Tuesday (my due date) we headed down the road. At 40 weeks pregnant I am getting very clumsey and out of no where I went over on my ankle which really hurt. This delayed us getting up the road. KFH called me at 8.40am to see where I was and i joked that I was making the guy wait as he had done this to me the previous morning. He was not very friendly and said 'so will you be five minutes'? I said 'no we will be 1 minute as we are at the top of the road'. We arrived at 8.42am and there was no sign of the real esate guy. He then called and said he had had to leave to get to the office for a sales meeting which is just around the corner. I said I couldnt believe he didnt wait for us given he had left me standing in the rain for 20 minutes yesterday. He said 'its not a case of tit for tat'! I couldnt believe what i was hearing and said thats fine and hung up. I got an email from him later that day apologising for being late and then having to leave but that he had no choice as he was heading up a sales meeting and his team relied on him to start the day (this is really ridiculous). I am client facing and the last thing I would ever tell a client is that an internal sales meeting is more important than they are. So a word of advice if you do want to use KFH be aware that their sales meetings come first before their customers.

We have bought, sell and re-bought through KFH on northcote rd so i know them a lot and how they work. The team has hardly changed.
I think they are quite efficient when it comes to selling your property but i do agree that their sales meeting can be in the way.
Having said that, what happened to you is really not nice snd if i were you i'd have a word with Danny Hardy the manager of the sales team.

Good luck on the birth.

kfh drove me mad when i was the tenant in a property they were trying to sell. we were buying elsewhere using another agent - nightmare.

i would say though that having had the opportunity to see them in action, they are usually very professional and try to do a great job for their clients. i'd second getting in touch with danny hardy as the manager, it doesn't sound like you were treated very well.

KFH have just sold our place for a great price after the first agents failed miserably. I found both Jimmy and Danny to be excellent. They were on the ball and always kept me up-to-date.
OP, good luck with your baby x

Jimmy is a good guy. I bought my house through him. I would use him any day of the week.
