Sweetpea and Willow - Any experiences?

Postby madamex » Wed Feb 22, 2012 10:13 am

Hello

I wondered if anyone had any experience of dealing with Sweetpea and Willow - lovely looking furniture. I have recently bought a table deeemed to be 'family friendly' on their website, made out of Mango Wood. My little girl sat down to eat on it and it has absorbed finger marks and is a complete mess. S&W are refusing to do anything about it, given that the fingermarks will 'add to the family history over time'. Shabby chic is a lovely look, but I fear that this will simply look shabby!

Thanks

Well we have bought a few things from them and they are sbsolutely lovely people. But to be fair i wouldnot ask to return a table if it is my child who has been careless.

Have you tried blow-drying it with a low-voltage hairdryer on a very, very low heat? Bonkers I know but it worked for me once on a piece of antique furniture. Certainly lifts water marks: if it's a grease mark they say you should lay a piece of greaseproof (or other absorbent) paper on top and then run over it with a (low-heat) iron. Always been too nervous to try that myself but you never know ...

hi
we used them a few years ago and didn't think much of them. The furniture we bought wasn't of great quality (a chaise longue and armchair) and the delivery men were pretty rude - they dumped the boxes containing the furniture in the middle of our room and refused to unpack them or take away the packaging. And I was 8 months pregnant at the time.

Thanks for all your feedback. After a great deal of 'persuasion' they came to take the table back and have refunded the money. It simply wasn't fit for the purpose of a family dining table which was a great shame as I loved the style. Now I have to find a new table!
