It's so depressing!
Free things:
Tate modern. We go there and join all the other parents who know the secret of letting toddlers run about in the giant turbine hall for free! It is a bit dark though, but good or a very rainy day.
The garden in the science museum. Water play area and discovery zone I the basement, place to eat packed lunches as well. Can get busy though. Don't do it on a weekend!
Imperial war museum. Sounds boring, but quite good with toddlers as it's big enough to explore, but not get lost.
Library . Even if you don't take out a book, it kills time and you can read books whilst your there.
One o'clock clubs; battersea park is great.
There is a nice children's library on battersea park road.
Battersea arts centre, the bees knees, free indoor garden.
Make your own play dough with flour and water
Finger Painting
Washing up bowl full of bubbles and lots of things to 'wash up'. My daughter loves this. I put towels down on the floor and she plys quite happily for ages, washing up her plastic animals and spoons!
Not free:
Eddie catz in Putney is good
Pottery cafe
Play zone upstairs in the latch mere, only £3.50, it's a bit grotty but very well designed and quite large. My 20month old had a great time there and we played for about three hours with a break for lunch. Great value.
Gambado Chelsea
Swimming
Hope there's something in there!
