OMG that so sad!!! Surely she had post natal depression I don't believe any mum wants to deliberately harm their children.
My thoughts are with all those involved

I think she must have done! also she had her children close together little girl was only a year and boy was 10 weeks old. britney spears had her children that close together and she had very bad PND, thats why she went bonkers. thank god she had people around to take the children from her. I really feel for the father to come home from work to see that!

Just heartbreaking, the poor family. Goodness knows what the poor mum has been going through.

I agree.. Extremely sad and hard to comprehend.

I found the reporting of the story almost as shocking... I'm struggling to see how putting the estate agent photos and garden size etc adds to the story, along with a map!?!

It seems shockingly insensitve, voyeuristic and cruel to the father and his family. I tried to post a comment to that effect at the bottom of the article but I think it got moderated!

A criminal has their privacy protected.. A victim has their name and photos of their bedroom published.... How is that fair? :-s

Absolutely horrible. If she does suffer from PND, how did it get undetected? Surely, her husband must have feel that something was wrong...?
I feel for him, recovering from that will be hard and he probably feel guilty too; and i do feel for her. If it was PND and was nit helped and treated, she is as much a victim. Her act of despair will stay with her forever.

I agree the article is terrible, but what do you expect coming from the daily mail!?!?

It just feels so terribly "near"

I didn't know them but the thought that someone who walked the same Commons and probably ate in the same restaurants could feel so sad is just heartbreaking.

What help is there for people with PND in Nappy Valley?

A friend of mine, his wife suffered with it and to be honest we both were of the attitude that she needed to "pull herself together".

Its only when you read stuff like this that you realise just how **** horrible it is.

Thoughts to family.

I don't know the cirucmstances, but this sounds liable to be puerperal psychosis, a very rare but terrible form of PND accompanied by hallucations and often the desire to harm yourself and the child.

It just shows how much more seriously we need to take post natal depression - the 'pull yourself together' attitude is still very common which can be disastrous if it's the spouse saying that as they are the only person close enough to really sound the alarm.

This poor, poor family - how tragic.

PND is very serious and I had it after my son and all i was told was that i was tired by all and that i just need to sleep and pull my self together. Luckily i never wanted to harm my son but i hated my self and thought he didnt love me. A lot of PND does get undetected and the latest news i just saw on sky was that they had just moved from Canada so she was probably very lonely.
It does feel so near and the fact that i actually saw the house is just really weird. I agree that I dont see why they had to post the pictures of inside the house and all of that. very insensitive

This is so so so sad, i just saw it on MailOnline. Assuming PND is the cause, it just shows how utterly devastating it can be. It is an absolutely tragedy that this poor woman reached such breaking point. NCT should may be include PND as part of their training courses. If they taught symptoms to both the Mums & the Dadas - may be, just may be they could spot it early enough to get these women some help before its too late.

A close family member of mine had sever PND and she tried to take her own life. Thankfully she was discovered in time by her husband and recovered. Never tried to harm her children though.

The causes and warning signs are many and varied. In this case she went from being manically over protective to virtual rejection. A sense of constantly being overwhelmed with the circumstances would be a constant theme. There was a school of thought that a drawn out, difficult delivery correlates with PND though I don't think that applies today.

Simply a very tragic story and I hope they both get all the help and support they need.
