International Movers from the States

Postby LindaS » Wed Jun 06, 2012 2:02 am

Hi,

I'm trying to move to the Wandsworth area from New York, everyone I know can only recommend the movers who took them out of the UK.

Could anyone recommend a mover that moved them West to East and had a good experience?

Regards,

Linda

ps-If you see a very tired American mommy with a little baby next week house hunting in the neighborhood, please feel free to say 'hi'.

Hi!
Let me know where you move to, I'm American and always happy to meet American moms especially from NY, am from upstate originally (Albany) but spent years on the UESide before moved here. Have 2 boys aged 3 and 19 months.

Linda,

We used http://movingstar.us/ when we moved 7 years ago from San Fran to Switzerland and found them to be fantastic and very reasonable. Avner was very helpful. My understanding is that they contract with various movers to get the best prices - so we worked with Rainier after Avener set us up. Not a hitch.

All the best househunting!

We used Suddarth International from NYC to London and don't have any complaints. For insurance purposes (and convenience) they packed everything for us and delivered and unpacked. Did a combo of air and sea freight.
