Laser hair removal

Postby cosmopolitanmum » Sat Jul 07, 2012 4:01 pm

Now that I am done having kids I am thinking about getting laser hair removal on my legs. Can anyone recommend somewhere local that is good? I have heard horror stories of people getting burned with the laser before, so I only want to go somewhere that is recommended. Thanks!

I have been thinking the same thing, but going for more than just the legs, so would be very interested in any recommendations.

I've just started a course of laser at the Glasshouse Clinic just off Northcote Rd. They use the new Soprano Laser and although it gets pretty hot it really doesn't hurt much at all. I've had 2 sessions so far and can already notice a big difference.

While it's not local, I went to Complete Lasercare. It's run by a couple of ex-nurses so you don't need to worry about getting burnt or other side effects. Their website is http://www.completelasercare.co.uk/

I am due to start my course at Transform Clinic in Fulham. I'm having EVERYTHING off, I will just be left with the hair on my head.
Really looking forward to never having to shave again.
I got a fantastic 50% discount with Transform. Because laser hair removal is a very seasonal treatment you are always best off finding a good deal late winter/ early spring. This is the time most clinics advertise special offers as they expect a massive dip in treatments during summer months (due to the fact you must avoid any sun exposure to treated areas throughout the entire course, a typical course will run for 6 months).
I was lucky with transform in that they allowed me to take the special offer but still book my treatment to start early autumn. Email me if you would like the contact details of my clinic coordinator, she is excellent! Plus the clinic have further discounts for friend referrals.

I know it's not right around the corner, but I use Pro Skin (www.proskinclinics.com) and they have clinics at Marble Arch and High Street Kensington. They have a Cynosure lasers which are evidently one the best lasers. The prices are really good – any laser area is only £49/ session. I'm really pleased with my results and the customer service from the clinic team has been amazing. At first I was a bit worried that it was 'too good to be true' but I honestly think you could easily pay twice as much for same quality at other clinics. Highly recommend them :D

I've used the Premier Laser Clinic at Clapham - I'm on my 5th session and very pleased so far.

Their website explains the difference between "a true laser" and IPL. http://www.londonpremierlaser.co.uk/whichlaser.php
They claim the former (which they offer) is more effective and I do have a friend who did IPL and was initially pleased, but then found the hair grew back. She then did "true lasering" and is still pleased several years on. All the Groupon offers seem to be for IPL.

There was a post on here a while ago about a laser clinic on Bedford Hill going bust:
