Is it a good reason to write complain?

Postby fooxxyy » Wed Aug 08, 2012 8:08 pm

I am writing this on behalf of my sister...
Her 2 year old daughter goes to one of the nursery at Surbiton.
Since she is there(is now 3 week),every day hapen some incidents.
Few times when she pick her up Constance had full nappy with poo, and red as fire bum. Once she was put to sleep with poo.
Today my sister was a witness when one of the staff was shaking her daughter when she was crying. Explanation for this behavior was that she was crying so laud in to her ear that she was traing to puch her a way :!:
Are we overreacting or this situation is not right:?: :?: :?: :?:
Im sorry for my english

I don't think you are overreacting if as you say they were shaking the child. That is not acceptable in any situation.

Regarding the dirty nappies, it sounds like the nursery haven't been quick to change dirty nappies which can of course lead to sore bottoms. Although babies can do something in their nappy without anyone noticing straight away - although you say this has happened a few times. To pick up your child with a dirty nappy - once is excusable, any more than that.... Not.

Your sister should definitely talk to the head of the nursery and raise her concerns. I know I would want some answers.

Shaking is simply unacceptable. She must complain straight away. I would go ballistic if I found a carer doing that to my children.

All totally unacceptable. Is there anything good about this nursery?

I'd speak to manager immediately and if responses unsatisfactory I'd remove her and find a new nursery. Signs really don't look good for this one.

If the shaking was justified by manager I'd report it to the safeguarding team at Childrens services

good luck. There are plenty more nurseries to chose from if you're falls short

You must complain & report this, nurseries are inspected & this sort of behaviour is NOT acceptable.

As the other posters have said, there are lots of excellent nurseries around.

Good luck & please keep us posted.

Thank you all for your good advice. Just to let you know my sister put a complain letter to the manager of the nursery and she is going to see another one on Monday so she will transfer her very soon.
