Weir Link?

Postby timpharrison » Fri Aug 17, 2012 10:32 am

Hi,

Does anyone have an experience of Weir Link nursery? It is right across the road from us, so would be very convenient for our new arrival.

I've not been able to find any reviews online, but the Ofsted report for 2009 was "outstanding" across all categories.

Thanks,
Tim

I would happily recommend the weir link. My son has been very happy at the Weir link nursery for almost 2 years now. He started when he was 7 months and has been there full time ever since and loves it.

We had our daughter at Weir Link from when she was 7 months old until she was 1 (she's now at Abacus). She was very happy there - settled in well and was well cared for by the nursery staff (several of whom we use as babysitters). We decided to move her to Abacus because it seemed like a more creative and stimulating environment for toddlers (for comparison, when I pick her up from Abacus the kids are doing organized activities or having free play, whereas when I picked her up from Weir Link the kids were often watching DVD's).

For me, they're like yin and yang. Weir Link is very good on the process (probably why they get the 'outstanding'). They're reliable and efficient and the staff are caring but somewhat transient. Abacus is very chaotic, but the kids seem to be thriving and the core team has been there for ages so it feels like a big, crazy, happy family.

Feel free to email me if you have any specific questions, and good luck!
