Car Recommendations please!

Postby stayathomemuminsw11 » Sun Aug 19, 2012 2:51 pm

Hi,

We are having our second child in November, and need to upgrade our Vauxhall Corsa for a bigger car, as the boot is just not big enough for a Bugaboo plus luggage/baby stuff (we'll being visiting both sets of parents at Christmas and will need to take a reasonable amount of stuff!)

We'll trade in our car, which I guess is worth around £2,000-3,000 (2005)

I know NOTHING about cars, and would love some recommendations! It needs to be:

Big, but not enormous, with a decent boot/luggage space
NOT a 4x4!
Manual Drive
Air Conditioning
Budget: approx £10,000 MAX (Plus whatever we get for our car)
Second hand probably
Easy to drive and with fuel consumption that is not ridiculous

We considered a Ford S Max, but I think it is just too big (and expensive) so something smaller than that.

Thanks!

I love our Skoda Octavia estate. Find it easy and comfy to drive (although ours is auto), plenty of legroom for everyone and a very decent boot. I confess to not knowing much about fuel consumption, but I think a tank of petrol gets us around 450 miles, depending on what journeys we do.

Hi There,

I would highly recommend the Nissan Qashqai. We have one and it meets all our needs you don't have to go with the 4 x 4 we had the normal drive and it has plenty of space and drives very well. We opted for the +2 and we are very happy with it. Very economical aswell uses the same miles to gallon as my polo. No complaints at all.
