Advice please - multilingual daycare in Clapham/Ecole des B

Postby rebeccakw » Sat Jan 23, 2010 8:55 pm

Hi,

I'm thinking of sending our child to a multilingual nursery, preferably Anglo/French. Does anyone have experience of the Ecole des Benjamins - any views on the quality of care/teaching?

Hi
My son has been at Grove Hall Nursery (this is the nursery attached to Ecole de Benjamin) for 2 months now. He was 11 months old when he started and I was very anxious about leaving him and returning to work.
SO far I have been very happy with our experience.... The settling in period was 5 days and he progressed form spending 1 hour there with me present, to doing a full day. He has seldom cried when being left there - even at the beginning - and now reaches his arms out for the staff to take him. HE is always very excited to see me when I collect him, but after a cuddle or two he wriggles away and wants to go back in to the play area. I find this very encouraging as it seems he is happy!
The staff speak both english and french, and they do nursery rhymes etc in both languages.
Now that my son is a bit bigger and walking, they go to the library and to the park ... And swimming once a week is included.
I would definitely recommend it, but I think choice of nursery is quite a personal things, so I would advise you to go and have a look and speak to staff.
Hopefully other parents will give you a range of opinions via this forum!

Good luck :)
