A FRENCH TWIST ON BABYSITTING

Parents often need someone to look after the children for a few hours after school, or while they go out for a romantic dinner. Enter the babysitter.

But hang on - parents do not necessarily need to settle for just any babysitter. Did you know there are babysitters that can teach children a foreign language whilst looking after them? That’s right, children could learn while being looked after, and believe it or not, it is great fun and no more expensive than a standard babysitter.

So what can the children learn? Well for young children it is often best to start with simple greetings such as “bonjour – hello” or colour using a “bleu – blue” pen. For the slightly older children greeting games can be introduced such as “je m appelle sarra – my name is Sarra”. And for the more advanced the babysitter can even help with preparation for school exams.

As more and more parents become aware of such babysitting services, it is obvious they see the value in them, especially when the cost is no more than a standard babysitter. And as awareness and demand grows, services like Little French Bears flourish creating more roles for babysitters that can teach French.
