Holiday Dilemma - too young to go?

Postby WimParkMum » Tue Nov 20, 2012 3:07 am

Hi
My husband is thinking of doing a winter holiday before the schools break up to the Canary Islands in December and I wondered do any of you have any recommendations? For resorts or location? Also, is it warm enough for sunbathing or too windy?
My main hesitation is that I'd be going with a 8 week old (she'd be 10 weeks in Dec) and a 2 year old, I'm not sure....is she too little?
Nuts I know to be even questioning his idea... I'd normally not even hesitate and jump on that plane!

Many thanks for any advice

Hello,

My friend took her two to the Canary Islands in Jan this year. At the time of the holiday her children where just coming up three and almost 1.

Although she returned home with a healthy glow it was apparently a little too cool for sunbathing, and she recommended warm fleeces for an evening. Perhaps you could look at the history of the weather over the last couple of years around the time you plan to go?

A top tip was taking wetsuits for her eldest, she returned wishing she had taken one for herself or her husband for the pool duties. (or perhaps look for a hotel with an indoor pool?)

I hope this helps? If you would like me to ask her any more questions please feel free to ask and I will see if she can help.

Good luck with your decision making.

Alison
