Short term accommodation needed Post Reply

We are doing some building work this spring and will need short term accommodation. Does anyone know of a one-bed flat that may be available for 3-4 months from March/April? Thanks.

Short term lets are almost impossible to find (I speak from experience!)
The only agents who will do them are Foxtons and they are literally double normal rents so you'd probably be better off doing a normal lease and making sure there's a 6 month break clause so you can get out after 6 months. It sounds like a long time, but most builders take longer than they say anyway.
Another option is gumtree - though when we looked on there we could only find house shares rather than our own place.
One other point - avoid an estate agen called Atkinson McCleod like the plague! They lied to us about our break clause and cost us thousands of £'s and were also terrible at managing the flat.

Hi Cool Clapham.

You could try www.spareroom.co.uk - you will need to select 'whole property' but again may have to utilise the 'break clause'.

Another alternative is www.airbnb.co.uk. This is a worldwide site but there are properties around wandsworth as I've looked at these for when family have come to visit from overseas but not used to date. People rent out their rooms and/or properties for short term periods so what is nice is you are dealing often directly with the owner rather than an agency.
