Recommended for chocolate lovers

Here is a new discovery to share...a small family-run Chocolate and Coffee Cafe. They really know their stuff and they have delicious baked goodies as well. They are near Wimbledon Park.

Recommending new fruit and veg man

Postby forkful » Wed Feb 06, 2013 4:03 pm

Hi everyone. I just wanted to post a recommendation for a new fruit and veg delivery service called Grocer Jack (http://www.grocerjacks.com). I just received my box and was amazed at the quality of the produce inside - it really is restaurant quality produce at very affordable prices. :D Really worth giving them a try.

100% horsemeat - that's why we should shop local

Postby Mistletoe » Fri Feb 08, 2013 8:00 am

With the horrid stories about supermarket meat lasange containing 100% horsemeat

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-21377601

It made me remember why I try to buy so much from local shops.

I don't buy enough locally so I thought I would mention the shops that I want to use more

Cleavers or Moens for meat, I bet there is no horse in their pies!
Moxons for fish, gorgeous but expensive :-)

Who else can add to the list?

Where should I buy fruit and vegetables?

What about bread?

If you don't always have time to cook from the beginning if you know what I mean, what brands can be trusted for a quick meal. :?

Cook ready meals are as good as homemade ones. They have a shop on abbeville road: http://www.cookfood.net/shops/clapham
you can also buy them from "As Nature Intended" in Balham. Not cheap, but absolutely delicious.

Well, if people choose to eat cheap microwavable lasagne, they should probably be pleased to get any meat at all!

Cook in batches & freeze. I do this once a week or fortnight & it's great. I wonder what will come out next?

Graveney and Meadow gets a shout out elsewhere on NappyValley

MungoMuffit, how long have you been a veggie for?

I do think about it but I love bacon too much.

Seriously, is it hard?
