I need A volunteer!

Postby Hooray Entertainment » Fri Apr 26, 2013 1:13 pm

I would like to offer a mother an opportunity to do a children's party, we will provide entertainment, balloon decorations, the venue and sandwiches for lunch all in for £250!

The only snag is it has to be in the week we will choose the venue and we want to film it for our website and other promotional things.

If anyone is interested please please let us know.

Does it cost us £250?

If it does then it seems a lot for a party.

Well entertainers normally cost £145 for 1 hours entertainment, then you have the hall free for 4 hours halls cost from about £40 per hour then balloon decorations including a balloon arch, and table centre pieces as well as table ware and sandwiches, it's alot cheaper than trying to do all those things yourself! if you can do it cheaper I would like to know how!

I have NEVER paid £40 per hour for a hall in Wandsworth. The last one i hired costed £16/hr. Agree with £150 for an entertainer (but an excellent one).

Ok even with your costing of £150 for an entertainer and £64 for a hall that is already £214 + food, decorations and party ware you still have a bargain!! and you don't have to do anything apart from turning up we can even give downloadable invitations to give to whoever you would like to invite and we will cater for 20 children so you also save time and money it's really not a bad deal!!!

Who hired a hall for more than 2 hrs? Nobody i know for sure.

And i tell you, ALL the parties i have been to, there is either 10-12 kids + party bags and balloons for each or more kids but no balloons and small party bags.

My feeling is you are costing on the high!

A volunteer does something for free. This is clearly not the case here. Whilst it may be a good deal for an all the frills party, it sounds like you have no choice in the venue or the entertainment details and you will be filmed for all the public to see in some form or another. No thank you.

Thank you for your reply, I suppose this is definitely not for you we are an entertainment company and most of our parties are minimum 25-30 kids! it's rare to just have such a low number, I have been doing parties for 5 years and most people do book an entertainer for 2 hours at a cost of £175 with me and in some cases still book a bouncy castles tableware and popcorn and candy floss balloon decorations and even pay for party planning in some cases, I am currently planning a party for a couple that is spending £2000, they are not rich but have saved up to do something special for her 5th birthday and that is their right and no one can judge how people spend their money, the hall they book for 4 hours as they need to set up before kids come and then clear up after,so they will need the hall longer for.

They are nationalities with big families and kids parties are made a big deal of in some families clearly not your thing.

This deal is definitely not for you if you only invite about 10 kids for your little ones party so it does not make financial sense but there are families it will be saving money for and those are the people I would like to reach with this deal.

Thank you for you comments, if you are looking for a first class entertainer in the future please do contact us! We have an amazing selection of themes and mascots and yes we are a good one! Well trained and versatile from disco's, magic, face painting, story telling, puppets and a whole range of things!

Have a lovely day!

Hi Hooray Entertainment -
I think the point that you are missing is what is the benefit to your 'volunteer'?

You are asking for the sum of £250 for a party at your time and convenience. What does the volunteer get out of it? Is the value of the party worth up to £2000 for instance? So far, the hassle of ensuring that the volunteer gets the agreement from their guests for their kids to be filmed and available (you don't state the notice period) plus having to fork out money for a party of untangible quantity may not sell your deal.

Perhaps if you could clarify what makes your offer different from someone taking their £250 to another party organiser to get the type of party they want on the day they want- you may get a volunteer.

"Well entertainers normally cost £145 for 1 hours entertainment". Really? Wow that's a lot more than we've paid for DD's birthday. I'm clearly in the wrong pay bracket! :(

You are asking for a volunteer! A volunteer does something for free! We live in one of the most expensive areas of London and yes some of the venues I've hired have cost £40 per hour but that is when I've choosen the date and the time and haven't had to ask my guests to be filmed.

You should be paying people to appear or your website or at least the very least offering them a free party in return for using their faces. I would change this post if I were you, bad advertising for your company.

If someone is already going to spend that money on a party with entertainment and catering then for the same money I can give them much more, things that they would probably not have because of the cost.

balloon decorations, standing balloon sculptures, balloon arch, bouquets on the table and I will provide a DJ, children's entertainment, candy floss station and a hall and food (sandwiches snacks and drink) as well as party ware.

for someone who is looking to do a party in the south west London area that was looking for all of those things which would normally cost 3 times the amount it is a good deal for that person, what I offer is great my work is good and they will have quality, it's like buying designer you pay that little extra for quality but if someone gave you quality at half price you would buy it!

Yes the word volunteer is probably not the wisest of words but we need someone who is flexible with the venue they have, they can choose any day they want in the week and any colours they want and choose what decorations they want and they can also choose the theme they want.

My work has value and they are getting a great deal, for the balloon decorations they will get they will have to pay a lot more to any company for what I am going to give them.

it just is not the same as them just spending £250 on a party this will be memorable so we both get something out of it other wise I would not do it, I can even offer a money back guarantee as I am that confident they will not get this anywhere else for that price, plus kids faces will be blurred out or the back of the heads, mainly concentrating on the entertainer, and the decor, things to show off our work.

Julian - you can come and be a party entertainer at my son's birthday party. He loves tennis so if he watched you hit balls for an hour he would be ecstatic!

No attempt to hijack this post honest. But funnily enough I'm doing just that a week tomorrow for a b/day. I'm doing it as I know the mum and not my future employment methinks :o

Good entertainers are hard to find though I think it's easier for girls than boys. I've definitely got 2 princess/barbie/mermaid/snow white girls, which being a sports billy is a bit :?
