Nurseries... Abacus, eveline, Asquith, marmalade caterpillar

Postby MVM » Fri Jun 07, 2013 12:11 am

Hi mums,

We might be moving to balham and would be on heaver so ten mins to balham station and 7mibs to tooting bec.

This is the area we are looking at with rgds to nurseries for our 13mth old.

I have seen eveline and was offered a place at seely hall which is a bit out of the way.

Would appreciate other recommendations! Any thoughts on abacus, looking glass, Asquith, eveline, marmalade caterpillar etc.??

Thanks

I couldn't reccomend Abacus more. Both my kids went there (second still there until Sept-14) and they loved it. Staff is amazing. They are caring and really love the kids. Sometimes administration is a bit messy but the overall lovely environment is what you really want for your kids.

We live on the heaver estate and send our little one to Baby room which is on Elmfield road, a few mins walk away. We've been really happy there.

Eveline and Babyroom are closest to Heaver and I've heard positive things about Eveline too. Looking glass is a 10 min walk, although I know a few people who have been put off by its size and staff turnover .... But haven't been myself.

Good luck choosing!

Eveline on Trinity Crescent is fantastic and I could not recommend more highly. I understand the Eveline on Ritherdon Road is also excellent. Unfortunately you will probably find the wait for a full time place at either branch is up to a year - i was advised to register my second child when I was 20-weeks pregnant to secure a place for her at 12-months old.

My neighbours send their two children to Marmalade Caterpillar and are very happy. This is a nursery school though and not full-time daycare like Eveline.

It depends on what you are looking for.

Good luck.
