IN NEED OF A CHEAP NURSERY

Postby nads89 » Sat Jun 22, 2013 10:23 pm

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone could help me, I moved to Wandsworth last year and am looking for a part time nursery place for my son who is 2 years old. I have seen and visited many nurseries but unfortunately we cannot afford the fees most nurseries were asking for.
My husband works and I look after my 2 children, but I feel my son is missing out on the opportunity to social and play with others as I cannot always take him to stay and play groups also these groups are closing in July. We also are not eligible for any help from the government either.

Anyone with any info please do get in touch, it would really help and be appreciated.

Thank you
Nadia

I have no idea what will happen to it given the planned closure of the 1 o clock clubs but there is a morning nursery run from the Bolingbroke 1 o clock club that i believe is v economical (with the catch being you have to offer to help out at least once a week).... Worth investigating!

Bollingbroke playgroup is very cheap. I think in return you have to work a shift or 2 a month to help out but as you're a stay at home mum I presume that you could do that? They posted on here recently, give them a call to see if you can get a place.

But also, I wouldn't worry too much about your child missing out. Most kids don't start nursery school until they are 3 and in the September after your child turns 3 you can apply for a nursery place for free at a local primary school.

Above is the post re Bollingbroke playgroup. My friend used to take her daughter and I think it was less than £50 per week for 5 mornings?

Totally agree with the post above.

My son currently goes to Bollingbroke playgroup and loves it!! Its so cheap and well worth the money. I believe the current staff are retiring this year and they will be hiring new ones. My son has made many friends and really does enjoy going. You do have to stay to help out occasionally but you are given a rota with the days you need to stay. Depending on how many parents there are, its never usually more than twice a month.

Good luck!!
