Hi
For me it depends on a few factors. What her current rate is and is it inline with market rate, did you agree an annual review?
For me my nanny is paid a good rate but neither me nor husband have had a pay rise for 3 years as that's the tough times of our economy.
I will however be giving my nanny a bonus. Which will be a one off sum, to say thank you and recognise how great she is. I also think about soft benefits. I give her all the time between Xmas and new year off without taking from her holiday allocation. Also there are odd days I get home early and let her go early and never expect it to be made up.
We also build in an annual review which is a time to sit down and discuss what she's enjoying and not and anything you would like her to do more or less of.
Good luck, don't let the good ones go. We try to keep them like I would any brilliant people at my work.
Best
Betty
