Must-do 4-yr-old activities in or near Wandsworth

Postby NYLON » Wed Aug 07, 2013 11:35 am

Hi Nappy Valley,
I have just moved from New York to Wandsworth with my family and am looking for term-time classes/activities for my soon-to-be-4-year-old son. Sports, art, music -- anything that involves having fun with peers. Would love your suggestions on the best that NV has to offer.

Thanks!
Christina

We've tried a few things over the years and by far and away the best is Playball. The coaches are simply brilliant with the kids.

I agree Playball is brilliant. The others I would recommend for you to have a look at are - the Little Gym, Teddy Tennis, Ruggerbeez, Little Kickers, Artfull Toddler, Theatrebugs and diddidance. I am sure there are loads more but that is all I can think of off the top of my head

Tingalingo http://www.tingalingo.com
Tingalingo classes combine music, songs, rhymes, stories and play in French, for children (around 10 months to four years) and their carer.Learning another language should be fun. And research shows that being introduced to a second language at a young age makes it easier to learn others at a later stage and also helps the development of academic skills. With that in mind, Tingalingo was born. Classes are Friday afternoons. Will it suit you? Come to a free trial session and find out. Email now to book a place at hello@tingalingo.com

Hi Christina and welcome!
There is so much for little ones is to do in Wandsworth.

We have tried loads and surprisingly stuck with most. There is tennis coaching on Wandsworth common. My daughters (3 and 6) are part of lion hearts football club ( a small independent football club) on wandsworth common - mixed team of boys and girls. There is also battersea ironsides for rugby (they operate just near the common close to Springfield hospital) and in balham itself is beavers (a younger group of scouts) for boys and girls. At the Aspire center in Southfields is a warm indoor swimming pool which you can use with your little one on sundays and a great climbing school if your little person is into rock climbing. There is also a lovely horse riding school at richmond park called stag lodge stables. These are what mine have done. Mostly though - we have great parks and commons in wandsworth and i hope, once you're feeling settled in you get to explore all of them.
