French family holiday advice!

Postby mumtoafew » Mon Nov 25, 2013 10:56 am

This year my husband and I are planning to take our two children (1 and almost 5) to France for our two week break in July. We have visions of replicating holidays from our youth.. Oyster picking, sandcastle making, market visiting....

Requirements are:

Driving ourselves (so Normandy/Brittany good)
Gite within walk of sea (or vv short drive)
Small village location or small town so we can buy bread/meat etc without having to get in the car.
Two bedrooms minimum.
Potential for another family of 4/5 to join us for one week. So gite can be near another/on small farm complex etc. we would prefer not to pay for an enormous gite if we only need a bigger one for half the time.

We wld also consider apartments joined to a hotel.

Does anyone know of anything like this. I am sure there must be loads of places!

Many thanks

Bonjour,
This is a wellknown French website where you can look. You can set the language to English.

http://en.gites-de-france.com/

I hope it helps.
