Far and away recommendations with 1 year old

Postby Nicnak » Sun Mar 23, 2014 8:43 am

I'm keen to book a long haul holiday somewhere wonderful before we have to start paying for the little one. Anyone have any recommendations on toddler friendly holidays? Keen on minimising disruption to the routine as much as we can (?) so less time difference the better and Ideally night time flights

Thank you!

Friend of mine just took her three and one year old to Dubai and they had a great time. Not much time difference and flight isn't over long either. Wish I had done the same while mine were younger as just getting quotes in for our summer holiday with a two and four year old and think it may have to be camping in the garden at this rate!

I took my kids when they were under 2 to Mauritius and can thoroughly recommend it for anyone wanting baby and toddler friendly accommodation of an excellent standard and excellent value. The beaches are golden sand and safe, the sea always warm, food delicious, and service brilliant compared to Europe. You can hire a daytime nappy to look after little ones in the kid's club on a 1-to-1 basis too.
It was one of the first places I went when I set up my family travel company (now 15 years ago!) and still a favourite.
For me flying with toddlers was best at night (you can do night flights both ways) as they slept (we didn't so much but a few early nights and were fine) so their routine was not too upset so although Mauritius is a very long flight I always found it easier than the Caribbean.
You can see the best family friendly hotels on my website, http://www.familyholidayscompany.com/fa ... -mauritius and we have inspected them all so please don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions, holidays@quovadistravel.co.uk.
