second hand stall !

Postby Birdie40 » Mon Mar 24, 2014 1:15 pm

To prevent the spill of baby paraphernalia and children's clothes escaping from my spare room and taking over the house, in the manner of and additional episode of Storage hoarders - I was wondering if anyone could recommend somewhere I could get a stall to sell these things. The NCT nearly new sales seem fairly few and far between and I can't make the next Wandsworth date.
I regularly off load to Fara - but these are items that I'd like to claw back some money on.

Thank you

Have you considered a car boot stall?
Honeywell School has its car boot sale on Sunday, 27 Apr, from 10am - 12pm.

Would certainly consider a car boot - but I have quite a lot of baby stuff and pre school clothes and wonder if the Honeywell audience might already have their own stash of this kind of thing.

We do car boot sale at the Wimbledon dog stadium and baby clothes and equipment are the quickest to go!! They hold every weds, Saturday and Sundays at different times, Saturday you have to arrive at 5.30am and be set up for 6 but it's well worth it :)

Oh that sounds great - I can off load it all in one day and without getting up in the middle of the night ! Have you tried Mumtomummarket, twomonkeys ? Buying or selling.

Yes I took a stall at a Mum2MumMarket in Wimbledon to sell.

It was good fun - tiring! - but I was happy to off load all my baby stuff. The key is to sell cheap and you'll get rid of everything. Don't be too hopeful of how much you'll get. The good part was that there were families buying that clearly needed very good value baby stuff, so they were very happy which means you feel good too! Everyone's a winner :-) Good luck x

Or join the SW11 Mums Buying/Selling/Giving group on Facebook - there's also a SW18 version, but I believe it's a closed group so you'd need to be friends with someone who's already a member of that group to join. Sorry, probably not much help but it's an alternative option for selling your baby stuff.

By the way - I'd be interested in any 12-18 month boy clothing/toys etc... if you want to advertise here on the 'bought and sold' section of NPV?

Facebook selling is quite good especially as there is no commission to pay - there are multiple groups for most postcodes - some are open/some closed

Ebay is easier now with their phone app
