Legoland visit - tips please!

Postby twomonkeys » Sat Jun 21, 2014 5:05 pm

Hi there

We have family coming to stay 11-21st July and they would like to visit Legoland with their 4 yr old girl and our two boys 4 and 3 yrs old.

We have some half price vouchers but wondering if anyone has some tips about when to go, book ahead/buy on gate, how to plan your day etc. I know there is a knack to these places to get the best out of a day with small people. Help if you can please!

Many thanks x

Be there for when it opens
take plenty of snacks for the kids
it helps to aim for the back of the park and work your way towards the front
not a lot of shade so hats and sun cream
the new duple area is like a water park. The kids love it so take swim suits and a towel if you plan on using that.
I always use the paper ID bracelets-you put your name and number on just in case they get lost. It's never happened but its a huge fear of mine.

Have fun!!!!!!!!

Get there before it opens - it can be a long walk from the car park to the entrance and you can get into the reception bit and visit loos, pick up maps etc and then be ready for the stampede when the rides etc open.

When the gates open - don;t stop at first rides you come to but instead go to the far side of the park and do it reverse - you will have about an hour before the rides on the far side get busy.

I was just there last weeked for 2 days. We actually booked a room at the Legoland Hotel which is fabulous for the kids. You get 2 days at the park and a night in with breakfast included.

This is a much better experience with young kids as they have 2 days to explore. The hotel guest can access the park from 9:30 which is 30 minutes before the main entrance open.

My advice to you is that you do all the popular rides during that time (No queue) and enjoy the duplo area / lego miniland during the busiest time, digging for gold in the pirate area etc... (12 - 3)

Don't miss the show in Lego city( we saw it at 4 PM but they have it in other times...

You can also enjoy a lego themed swimming pool at the hotel, lego animation and characters at night. The room are fab, full of lego things and the kids get a treasure map with clues to discover a treasure in the room.

A little bit more expensive, but well worth the lego experience !!!!
Message me if you want more infos... Hope that help...

As a filmmaker mum, I have filmed our little adventure. I might post it here once I edit here. It might help other people who want to take their little one to legoland...
