Loving, experienced F-T live-in Nanny/Housekeeper wanted SW4

Postby tatters » Tue Jul 29, 2014 10:11 pm

We are a warm, friendly and fun-loving family of 4, with a very lovely cocker spaniel dog, who are looking for a new full-time female live-in nanny/housekeeper in Clapham South. Our much-loved live-in nanny of over a year is moving on to fulfil her dream of becoming a Physiotherapist, and so we need a new lovely person to replace her from the middle of August/beginning of September 2014.

We are looking for someone who has a high standard of English, and lots of experience of looking after small children sole-charge, especially newborns as we also plan to have a third baby next year. We would like to find someone with a minimum of 3 years childcare experience, who is bright, independent, tidy, cheerful, likes cooking, is a non smoker, has lots of initiative and zest for life, and who is looking for a permanent role.

Both myself and my husband work full-time in central London, so you will be in sole-charge of our 4 year old daughter, and 3 year old son throughout term time and 50% of school holidays. Our kids have been brought up with manners, to enjoy life, show respect and have fun with all. We live near Abbeville Road, in Clapham, which is a lovely leafy area in South West London with great local shops, close to amenities and connections. We are approx 45 minutes away from most parts of London on the tube or overland. Our daughter will start school full-time in September and our son is at nursery two full days and three half days.
I like to drop the kids off at school on my way to work most days.

The hours of work will be 45-50 hours per week, Monday to Friday and 2/3 nights babysitting a week (one of the babysitting nights will usually be a Friday or Saturday night).

Responsibilities & details:

We want someone who is self-motivated, adaptable and who can show initiative over what is needed in the home - who is happy in their work whether that is looking after our children, or our home. A person who loves kids and is looking to work as a valued member of the team in our family.

CHILDCARE:
- Picking up our son from nursery x 3 days at 12pm, at 3.30pm x 2 days and our daughter at 3.30pm everyday.
- Organising and supervising activities and playdates after school for both.
- Preparing all meals for the children during the week, with an eye on their healthy eating and nutrition across the week.
- Doing bathtime each night and bed times some evenings (our kids are both good sleepers).
- Helping with reading homework, piano practice or other activities across the week.
- Helping with infant training like weaning, movement, potty training, sleep training etc.
- Someone who is trustworthy, punctual and loving.

HOUSEKEEPING:
- General tidying and maintaining the home each day.
- Organising toys and children’s stuff at the end of each day.
- Helping to get children to tidy the toys away in their playroom and bedrooms.
- All laundry duties: loading machine, hanging and drying and doing all of the family ironing each week, including shirts & sheets.
- Loading and emptying the dishwasher, addressing any areas of the home that need tidying, cleaning, dusting, mopping across the week. (n.b We will have a cleaner 2 x per week)
- Driving a plus.

In return we offer:
- Own double room with TV and wifi, shared bathroom with the children.
- Good weekly net salary
- Friendly and fun working environment, respect and open, collaborative management style.
- Varied working style and opportunity for growth.
- Long-term position for the right person.

If you are interested please send your current C.V along with 2-3 checkable references. We will only consider applicants who can come for a face-to-face interview, have the right visa or status to work in the U.K long-term, must be CRB checked, have the right childcare experience and a very good level or spoken level of English.

Many thanks.
