Just wanted to recommend our builder Dermot Steedman who runs Dermarta (
www.dermarta.co.uk). Dermot and his team have been working on various parts of our 'project' house since we bought it 2 years ago- from replacing all the rickety, rotten sash windows with new sashes, painting the exterior after removing masses of very clingy vine root to building a new extension and refurbishing an extremely dodgy bathroom this summer. Some of the work has been pretty challenging but Dermot and his team have really invested in bringing the place back to its former glory - I cannot recommend them highly enough. We still have a way to go and we will definitely be using Dermot and his team to finish the job. They are skilled and professional but more than that, they're willing to go the extra mile - helping out with lugging furniture, fixing things not on their 'list', tidying up and generally really being lovely to have around.
