Hello - we are relatively new to the area and the UK. I'm also starting my work after a 6-month maternity leave (sigh.) Any working mothers out there who would like to meet up for a weekend coffee or a play date? I have a six month old boy.

Also - there's doesn't appear to be many activities on weekends for babies. Maybe I am missing something. Anyone have any suggestions? Thank you!

Good idea, I just emailed you.
I think you are right, baby activities are harder to find on weekends. I know there are Daddy's Rhyme Time singing sessions in our library, once a month - I assume most local libraries do the same. Also some baby swimming classes run on Saturdays (London Baby Swim).

Gymboree starts young and is on Saturdays in Clapham. Swimming classes and when a bit older Tiny Toes ballet are also on at weekends.

You're right there aren't as many weekend sessions unfortunately, especially for babies as young as 6 months. Swimming classes are the exception.

When they get older there are quite a few activities on Saturday mornings, eg Gymboree, Little Gym, Little Kickers (football), Fancy footwork (dance), but most of these are for 18 months plus. Gymboree and Little Gym probably start the youngest though I would think 8/9 months would be the earliest as they are meant for mobile babies really.

One other option is the Bolingbroke Children's Centre on Chivalry Road which runs drop in stay and play sessions on Saturday mornings - again I suspect most children would be older but there may be a few babies there.

my son in 20 months and starts this Saturday - I think they are full up, but i'm sure you can get on a waitng list - give the guy a call.
Finally something his dad can get involved with (but there is no way i am missing the first session!!)
