Sash windows need replacing, Heaver Estate

Postby oskemen9 » Mon Jan 26, 2015 10:03 pm

Hello

I'm wondering what companies ppl have used and feel are reputable to get sash windows completely replaced and double glazed? We're on the Heaver estate so the windows have lots of separate panes of glass. I've had two comanies round to give quotes so far but wouldn't mind a few recommendations.

Many thanks!

We have used Sash Smart for quite a few windows and are still happy, a couple of years on. They're very nice guys, reasonable pricing (given sash windows are expensive!) and sorted all problems very quickly, including when I realised that the window locks on my young daughter's windows were too high, and allowed her windows to open too much, they came straight over and changed them.

Have a look at the thread below on sash windows, it's very helpful personally as we are also looking into this.

That link is so helpful, thank you very much. Has anyone had any experience with Balham Glass & Joiners?

Hi we used a small company based in Richmond called Chapel Lane sash windows.
They were excellent and even though I had a last min change of heart on the colour they still had them ready in 4 weeks.
They also fitted the windows with acoustic glass (there recommendation and one Im delighted with) and still came in less expensive than the other quotes.

I dealt with Patrick 07886957354 he was very helpful

I hope that helps xx

Hi

Just dont use Wasndsworth Sash windows - our windows all arrived wrong and are still not right 6 months later. The rudeness of the two young boys running it is quite special.

My builder likes mumford and wood, but they are very expensive - but you get what you pay for ...

We used Sherborne Windows http://www.sherbornewindows.co.uk who are based outside of London but lower in costs to other companies and brilliant customer service.
We had a slight issue with one window which was sorted out quickly.
Jamie McGee is the guy we dealt with.

I'd recommend ChapelLane Sash Windows as well.

The guys were really easy to deal with and were happy to answer all my questions! Also I was able to visit their workshop which was really assuring as I knew I was getting good quality bespoke products.

Im only posting as I know there's loads of companies out there and it's good to know when there's a local company you can trust!
