Fingers crossed for everyone, and if you don't get your first choice immediately don't give up hope..., call the council and ask to go on the waiting list for your first choice or choices, there is a lot of movement, you can even put yourself on the waiting list for schools which weren't on your application.
Got NONE of the six choices! Despite living two streets away from the ones everybody wants! So been given a school in Balham which ofsted says requires improvement!
Lucky for us he was always going private anyway, but it was an interesting exercise to apply and see what we got. What a ridiculous system that we would have to drive miles to drop him off a bad school rather than walk moments to a good one!!
It's good that your place will be released for another child Actuallyadad. If it's Ravenstone then I'm sure someone will be delighted to accept the place.
We didn't get a place at our first choice (St faiths) really sad as we have done a year of nursery so it's very unsettling for our little one. I can't understand how the catchment has shrunk so dramatically, it's a sweet school but if I was renting to get in a catchment I would have probably picked one of the more established schools imo
