I wish to highlight the amazing raw organic milk that i get directly from http://www.bartonfarmdairy.co.uk/

Its delivered weekly by Jonathan (very interesting character) and only costs £2 per litre.

The best part is that once the cows are passed the "milking stage" they dont kill them! They allow them to live peacefully on the pasture!

I had a look at their website and it all sounds fantastic. The one thing that stop me ordering is the £6.49 delivery charge.

Please be careful !
pasteurised organic milk is much safer. there was a story in the papers last year about a toddler who died after his mum gave him raw milk and he developed an infection called Yersinia. Lots of info send to hospitals and GPs after that about why the milk is pasteurised and how it kills bacteria than can be fatal to small kids.
You really do not want to play with this and get it wrong.

Sorry for the vegan interjection but what does this particular farm do to the male calves born to these cows? Normally, these baby boy cows are sold off as veal calves within a few days of birth so that humans get to drink cows milk. Cows are repeatedly impregnated to continue the birth and lactation cycle.

While I applaud the fact that the mother cows on this farm might get to live a 'longer' life than they might on any other dairy farm, please bear in mind that this is not a natural or happy life for a cow, that their babies are taken away from them within only a few days so that humans can drink their milk. They get no time to bond and enjoy the social interaction they would otherwise enjoy. They are also generally over-milked and can be required to produce 10 times what their bodies would naturally produce.

As many of us are mothers on this website (who may have had the opportunity to breastfeed), I think that should resound quite loudly.

Consider plant milks instead - every bit as healthy and totally cruelty free!

The pasteurised vs unpasteurised milk debate is very controversial and personal. I have put many years of research behind my decision.
