Toodler activities in / around Heaver

Postby sap19 » Mon Jun 01, 2015 4:19 pm

Hi,

We are moving to the Heaver Estate and I'd like to help my nanny settle into the move. What activities/ ways to keep toddlers (my son is 2) engaged do you recommend? Either ones to pay for or free.

Thanks!

We only moved to Heaver once kids were older than toddlers but there is:
Bertie and Boo Soft Play and cafe on Balham High Rd
(£4.50 entry)
The playground on Upper Tooting Park is good for toddlers
The common has a playground, duck pond and cafe (as well as football/ rugby classes at weekends)
Fun on Fridays class at Bertrum House School nursery site on Rowfant Road
DeeLight cafe has a little play area at the back
The Bertie and Boo cafe by Waitrose has a car outside that's great for playing in.
The Tooting Triangle sandpit is walkable
Toddler swimming at Trinity Hydro
The library
Leisure centre: playball and swimming

Hopefully someone else will fill you in on playgroups etc...!

Balham Community Centre playgroup on Tuesday.
A playgroup called Little Lambs at St Mary's Church - Wednesdays if I remember correctly.
If you feel like going further afield, The Weir Link and Maytree Centre have a range of activities (including free cookery classes!).
Not sure if the One O'Clock Club on Tooting Bec Triangle has reopened, but it was lovely and it had a small playground where young children wouldn't have to negotiate their way among 10-year olds.
I believe there is one at Hillbrook School too.
Further away, Cafè 207 on Trinity Road (cafe with play area).
If something else comes to my mind I will post again!

Thank you twoundertwo for mentioning our 'Fun on Fridays' group.

We host a Monkey Music session for half an hour and then the children stay in our Nursery for a stay and play session with one of our teachers. The session starts on Fridays (term time only) at 2pm and finish at 3pm.

The first session is free and it is then £5 a week (plus £3 for any extra siblings). If you would like to come along, please book a slot with our school office on: 020 8767 4051.

We are based in the church hall on Rowfant Road but can also be accessed down the side of the Polish Church next to DuCane Court on Balham High Road.

We look forward to meeting you.
