My name is Anja Dix and I am a 35-year-old South African. My home language is Afrikaans and English, my husband, Ryan is English therefore my children are being raised bilingual. We have two children, who attend St Michaels CofE Primary school.
I am an Ofsted registered childminder and have: Full CRB, Paediatric First Aid, Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and many other courses in my portfolio.
Your child will be cared for as if they were part of the family and I’d give them the same love, care and respect I give my own. Therefore I think it’s of utmost importance that you get a feel for our family.
I have been happily married to Ryan for 16 years now and have two lovely children, aged 5 and 7. Both my children love the little ones I mind and are very gentle and caring towards them. I enjoy Art, singing and reading and believe that children should be allowed to be children, get messy and have fun, being outdoors when possible.
We live in a lovely 3 bedroom house with a front and back garden and right next door to King George's Park. Children in my care feel loved and get to be kids! We have lots of fun exploring, playing and when necessary, cuddling! There is a large variety of toys and equipment, inside and out, including a trampoline, playhouse, toy kitchen, climbing frame, ride on toys and more. We do craft sessions each week so your little one has something special to bring home.
Other activities include baking, messy play, singing, dancing, reading and building dens or playing using our imagination. There is some structure to my days, but I believe that little ones need the freedom to play and to explore without constant instruction, so we spend a lot of time walking around or just playing in the garden, looking at the birds, squirrels, bugs and ducks. The children form good friendships and grow in their confidence through this freedom. I mind 3 children at a time and they each have a bedroom of their own to sleep in.
We are a Christian family and attend SW London Vineyard in Southfields. Working together with you to raise your child with your beliefs and values is really important to me and I look forward to helping you give your child the best they deserve. Naturally all the parents I have minded for are happy to give references.
