Bonneville School

Postby DelilahBear » Mon Jun 13, 2016 10:28 am

Hi all,
Does anyone have a child starting at Bonneville School in September? Or does anyone currently have a child there and has any feedback? My son is starting there in September and I'm slightly freaking out (not about the school specifically but more about him starting school in general) so want to put my mind at rest.
Many thanks :)

The reception facilities are marvellous away form the main school which is big 380 children they have an amazing forest school the whole of the corner best of all the schools around here ( I looked at all of the schools) Teachers are brilliant Mrs Da Silva amazing v caring good insight into small children Miss Serrel also good and Miss Boyle v experienced the others may have changed quite an issue in all schools. The head has changed form we were there in 2013-14 and she is even better. school tidier now more sport

They teach them well push targets, good on discipline (there are some kids from rougher backgrounds and they do well with them).
Our child moved into the private sector after 1st term yr 1 and was well prepared conduct wise and wasn't behind at all apart form reading but the privates have the time to read with them individually every day so they should be ahead.

Good luck it is worrying but fun year and you will be amazed how they come on.

My daughter is in reception at the moment and my son is starting in September. It's a lovely school with a great Parents association and great teachers.

My daughter settled well and seems pretty happy. The boy child loves the nursery there. There always seem to be a lot of staff around in reception so the children get lots of support. Forest school is very good.

We're going to the stay and play session on the Tuesday. Have you picked one to go to? The parents will exchange emails and we'll organise a meet up in the summer so the kids can meet each other. If you can't make the meetings pm me and I'll add your email to the parents group.

It's a big step for the little ones and the parents!

Thank you both so much for your replies :-) They've helped to put my mind at rest! It seemed like a nice nurturing school when I looked round, which is why we chose it but it seems to be off the radar of most people that I know so I was slightly questioning my decision?! But good to hear positive things, which reaffirm my thoughts. My husband is taking my son to the stay and play on the Monday as I’m on holiday so can’t make it sadly. I don’t fully trust him to make sure he exchanges contact details with everyone! I’ll send him with strict instructions :-) I’ll PM you, kfk101 with my email address too, just in case. Thanks again.
