Can I sell my Wimbledon tickets? Post Reply

I have been awarded 2 tickets for Wimbledon this year 2016 through the ballot system.
I have paid for them and apparently they have arrived.
I am away at the moment and I am now not sure that I can attend.
Am I allowed to sell them?
They are Centre Court Tue July 5th.
Can anyone advise me please?

My understanding is you cannot.

I am not sure how they police these things but if they are advertised on Stubhub etc then my understanding if they'll be nullified.

I guess you could try a private sale without publicly announcing which seats etc but the new owners do risk being turned away.

You may be able to return them and get a refund. There will be terms and conditions with them - can someone check them for you if you are away?

I think you can. I have bought Wimbledon tickets before from people. Maybe in theory you're not allowed but in practice you can.

Most sports have T&C's saying they must not be sold on but I've sold on tickets for rugby, cricket etc and been given tickets to tennis. I've never known anyone to be turned away for not having the right name on a ticket to any event.

Discouraging touts is a good idea but being overly strict about passing on tickets to fellow fans is one of those open secrets - it happens all the time.

Seriously interested if you do consider offering for sale...
