Porto Sani, Greece - best booking prices? have you been?

Postby ajm62 » Fri Feb 25, 2011 11:52 pm

We're considering booking a week at Porto Sani in Greece mid-Sept when our firstborn will still be just under 2 years, and our newborn (due May) will be 4 months, so just old enough to use the creche, should we want. I would love to hear from anyone who has been there:

- Would you recommend it and which area did you stay in? - there seems to be so much choice on different rooms/parts of the resort.
- Are there any areas of the resort which are noisier (eg: near external roads) which we should avoid when choosing our room?
- Is the half board/dine around deal worth it or is it better to book B&B and then have free range of restaurants/a la carte to chose from? (though I gather it can be quite expensive?)
- Who did you book your trip with? I saw the resort in a Tots Too brochure but so far booking direct with Sani Resorts seems to be cheaper (esp. if I book our own flights).

Many thanks

We are booked in to visit Sani Beach Club in May. I did a lot of research around child-friendly hotels in Europe and this complex seemed great - a chic hotel that adults would enjoy with or without children, and lots of amenities for the bambinos. The other one that looked quite good was the Sheraton Pine Cliff Resort in the Algarve.

The beach club is described as 'the family hotel' though I was also tempted by the Porto Sani complex as it was an all suite hotel. So far, the hotel have been very helpful - booking a car to collect us with child seat etc - and the creche sounds great and have been very efficient confirming everything. Can't tell you more until June!

We went to the Porto sani resort in 2008 - when I was pregnant. It was fantastic. We booked directly with the hotel and planned to stay 5 day at the sani village and 5 day at the sani asteria suites but were upgraded to the whole stay in the suites.

The Hotel were so helpful - from car collection at the airport to room upgrades when there was a small problem. We went B and B and there is a large selection of restaurants but they do get busy.

The beaches were beautiful and so were the facilities.

We've been to Porto Sani for the last 3 years running with my two kids who love it as much as we do. We have travelled each time with Tots Too who have never failed to get us the suites we wanted. i couldn't tell you price wise how they compare as we never look at other costs but I did speak with the manager at PS and they said we were lucky our operator got us the best rooms in advance as they have been working with the resort of a while and know where the better rooms are. we started off in a standard suite but with our two being that big bigger last year, and this year (we are going May half term) we went for a family suite as the extra space is worth the extra money. i do recommend half board (but then we've always received this free as part of an offer!) as food and drinks are pretty pricey when you are there. if we didn't need half board in the evening, then we used it for lunch and just used the room service menu for the kids that night before we went for dinner. so for those that asked, half board works out better. definitely pre-book the kids club as in peak times this gets really full and i also recommend booking the package as early as possible. we have always received some sort of early booking and TT has held our seats with BA for us too so our flights never seemed to be as much as other people we met had paid. I'm sure eventually we will try another resort but PS is so well set up for families, its good to turn up somewhere and just know you and the kids will enjoy it. hope this helps ;)
