Nearly new baby clothes - where can i donate?

Postby seabel » Sun Jul 31, 2016 4:26 pm

I have finally sat down to go through all my baby clothes, my youngest is now 4. I would like to give them to somewhere like an orphanage or the like where the clothes will be given to the children straight away. I don't want to give them to a charity shop where they make a few pounds but the clothes don't actually go to children that really need them. Anyone done the same? Any recommendations would be greatly received! Thanks

Little Village (a local organisation supporting local families) would I'm sure appreciate them. I think they often particularly need things for slightly older children (over age 1). They have a web page you can google if you want to find out more.

Hello,
I gave all my baby and kids clothes to Calaid as they were sending a container to Syria. Contact them on below:

Our From a Mother to Another charity/recycling initiative starts again in the New Year - with collections at all JoJo Maman Bebe stores. But sadly we can only collect in the run up to Mother's Day. We check the packs and then cover all the costs of delivering them to partner charities in the Bekaa Valley on the Syrian border which I have personally visited, or we work with the Trussell Trust to hand them out through food banks in the UK. So if you can pop them back in the loft till the New Year ... or else good suggestions above. x

My friend and neighbor is on the board of The Small Project. Nice people, good organisation.

From their facebook:
Hi. The Small Project collects good quality second-hand baby clothes and equipment and passes them on to local families. We're based in Kennington, south London. Families in need of items can be referred to us by health/welfare sector workers. Please get in touch if you'd like to refer, be referred, donate or just find out more - info@thesmallproject.org.uk
