Wandsworth Architect Suspended for Bodged Loft Conversion

Postby Annabel (admin) » Wed Sep 14, 2016 11:03 am

A Wandsworth architect who ‘bullied’ a couple with £10,000 of false invoices has been suspended for six months after ‘completely botching’ a loft conversion at their Beckenham property.

Mr Mukundkumar Vashee, known as Mayur, was suspended for professional misconduct and incompetence after his design was found to be “seriously flawed, based on inaccurate measurements and could not be built.”

Does anyone know how to report an architect? We have had a terrible experience and after costing us 10s of thousands of pounds due to his errors I want to report him and hopefully recoup some money! Thanks.

What an ordeal you've been through! It's bad enough going through a renovation but to be faced with an incompetent bullying moron architect is beyond belief! I don't know whether he ever stated any affiliations on his paperwork which you could noise up, otherwise I would ask RIBA (the Royal Institute of British Architects) whether they are aware of him and what can be done. I think you're naming and shaming medieval style will also do its bit to keep this chap away from people's precious properties. Chin up!

That's outrageous. We used CLL in the end but I've heard about so many terrible loft conversions being done, it can be so dangerous

If you have a problem with an architect report them to Architects Registration Board ARB not RIBA. You can also look at the ARB register to check that your architect is legally an architect.
