Local early pregnancy scan

Postby Sunshine26 » Wed Sep 21, 2016 2:44 pm

Hello just wondered if anyone can recommend a local clinic for an early (8weeks) pregnancy scan. Finally pregnant with my 2nd after 3 years and ivf and just want to have an early scan this time for reassurance. Thanks!

http://www.fetalmedicine.com/ is a good place to try - not in NV but not far

Otherwise you can self refer to St George's EPU and they will scan you

Does your IVF clinic not do an early scan? All mine have, and have also offered the option of coming back for additional reassurance scans between their scan and the 12 week scan (at a price!)

Otherwise, there is the My Healthcare clinic near the south side of Wandsworth Bridge http://myhealthcareclinic.com/fertility-clinic/
And the Richmond Practice, near Waitrose in Richmond

Congrats on your pregnancy :D

Congrats! I had a good experience with an early scan at Ultrasound Direct in Wimbledon: http://www.ultrasound-direct.com/locati ... wimbledon/

Congratulations! As a previous poster said you can walk in for free to the St George's EPU (I think Thomas's also has one if that is easier for you) and they will scan you. The clinic runs every weekday morning. There can be quite a long wait and they will scan people with pain and bleeding first (understandably) however I believe they usually get to everyone in the end.

If you are intending to have the Harmony test then the Fetal Medicine Centre on Harley St does a package which involves a scan at 10 weeks, bloods taken for the Harmony, then a further very detailed scan at 12 weeks when you also get the Harmony results. This package costs £400 which is less than many other places charge and the FMC are absolutely the scanning experts. So if you can bear to wait till 10 weeks that would be a good option. Not local though obviously :)
