Hi local Mums
I was wondering if anyone has an Alma cot/crib (made by Bloom) which they are looking to sell or would be happy to lend for a few months please? (I would be happy to buy a new mattress.)
We are expecting our 2nd baby in May. The plan is for him/her to be in a moses basket in our room for the first 12 weeks, but after that to go into their own room (currently our spare room). I've decided to keep our 1st child in their current nursery (which is boxroom size) rather than move them into the spare room, as we are likely to move house within the next year, so I would rather present the house to prospective buyers as having more adult/double bedrooms, rather than kids' cots etc. So I want to keep the current double bed in the spare room and put no.2 in there, albeit in a rather temporary set up (poor thing!).
To that end I'm looking for a cot/crib that won't take up too much space, and ideally one that could be quickly folded out the way if needed. The Alma would be perfect, but I'm loathed to spend £300 for something that will be a temporary fix until in a new house (when no.1 could then move into a toddler bed, and no.2 can have the existing cotbed).
So I was wondering whether anyone out there might be able to help please?
Obviously the other option is to use a travel cot, but we often need to use ours for visiting babies, so I'd rather keep it spare. Plus travel cots never have nice thick mattresses and also don't allow the possibility of having the mattress level set half way, which would be handy if I need to sleep in the spare bed and have the baby close by for breastfeeding.
