Home remedy required for icky emergency

Postby LaLadie » Mon Nov 21, 2016 11:10 am

Hi everyone,

I hope this doesn't make you too queasy. I have just discovered, to my horror, that there is poo smeared all over the lining of the curtains in my bedroom. :o I can only guess as to where it came from, but it has clearly been there for a while, as it is firmly dried on.

The curtains are quite dark and heavy, with a cream black-out lining. They block out light beautifully and keep the bedroom warm too. I cannot face taking them down and being without them while they are dry cleaned. Does anyone have any idea how I could best tackle the problem without taking them down, which would be a major DIY job in itself?

Huge thanks in advance for any and all suggestions!

You could probably get one of those mobile upholstery cleaning firms to come and do it for you. If they can do furniture in situ then they can probably do curtains. Worth a call at any rate. Don't have any to recommend offhand but I'm sure someone else could or you could do a quick google.

Thanks for the ideas, ladies. I suppose it's too much to wish for a home remedy for something so, errr, extreme.

I most definitely wouldn't do a home remedy. If it doesn't work it'll be much harder for the professionals to get out. Safeclean have dealt with icky stuff for me before (I have a cat with stomach issues) and they're quite used to it.
