Garden office/studio

Postby nightmonkey » Sun Feb 05, 2017 6:33 am

Hi, we would like to build a home office at the bottom of our rear garden. Does anyone have any recommendations for specialist firms that can design and build these please? We are in a conservation area so any experience working with the at times unusual restrictions also a bonus. It will need electrics and insulation.

We have one, and it was a brilliant move. We used Homelodge, a family-owned business in Winchester, and they were (and continue to be) lovely to deal with. You can go down there and see a range of the studios on site. We preferred the style they offered - they are not the standard stained-wood, flat-roof style that most garden studios seem to be, and so we feel it fits better at the back of a Victorian house. We feel ours has a sort of New England look to it, like a large summer house. Getting it into our block was a feat of ingenuity - if they could get one into the narrow garden of a Hyde Farm terrace, they can get one anywhere! It is very well insulated, though we have added a few modifications because we keep a piano and a few other musical instruments in there.
Feel free to pm me if you would like a photo of it or more details.
