Tips for filling gaps in floorboards?

Postby flatwhite » Mon Feb 06, 2017 4:06 am

I need to get some gaps filled in the Victorian pine floorboards in my house. Does anyone have any experience of companies/tradesmen that do this, or of the best methods/materials to use?

We don't need the floor sanded or made to look perfect, just looking for a few holes and sharp edges to be patched up.

Many thanks!

Our wood floors had large gaps and were filled in with pine slivers which work great - prior to that they were filled with a mixture of sawdust and glue which looked good for a short time but eventually fell down under the floorboards. You can see what the pine slivers look like here:http://periodprojects.co.uk/wood-slivers-southampton/ - ours still look good four later later and the house feel warmer too.
