The female moth will prefer to lay her eggs in dark undisturbed places so lofts, spare rooms, under furniture or where a fitted carpet meets the skirting board. Getting rid of them is not easy. Here are some options
1. Use a professional pest expert to spray the affected room(s). Beaver pest control have been recommended and used by a number of my clients
www.pestcontrolservices.co.uk and will offer a free respray if the moths are still visible within a month.
2. Freeze for at least 2 weeks any affected items and this will kill both the larvae and the eggs.
3. Use pheremone traps which will kill the males so preventing them mating with the female and the life cycle repeating. I sell these traps.
4. Use a pest spray on wool rugs and fitted carpets. I sell the spray.
5. Use deterrants - How effective these are is questionable but worth a try.
The reason I know about the clothes moth is that I sell Oriental rugs which being wool they really like.
