I thought that NVN users might find this lovely children's book a nice thing to have on the bookshelf over the next few weeks.

The Election is aimed at 3-8 year olds and explains the process of a general election in really simple, colourful, child-friendly terms. It's not 'political' (the parties are spots versus stripes) but explains concepts like a manifesto, canvassing and voting itself. It also has a nice happy ending.
We got this for our kids for the last general election (they were then 3 and 5) and they really enjoyed it. The older one immediately went and found it to re-read when he heard there was another election on the horizon. I hope this is ok to post here. The author is a friend who originally wrote it for her own young children.
