HELP- WHAT CAN I DO ABOUT MY PMT!!!!!!

Postby Lucy Gardening Lady » Tue May 30, 2017 12:14 pm

Hello- Calling all ladies.......

Can anyone recommend an excellent cure for PMT- I have tried everything!!

If you can advise on any alternative therapy- ( note i have tried everything from accupunture to Agnus castus herbs) - but still once a month this demon gets me .

I would be super grateful for any personal recommendations or extra tips of what other supplements etc to take !

Many thanks

Sorry to hear about this...there was a recent post about understanding your cycle more in relation to diet and certain foods so wondering if this might be useful to address this as well. I definitely feel as I am getting older and post 2 children my period is a lot more unpredictable and I have given up the mini pill as the idea of synthetic hormones didn't sit well with me. I am also very conscious about exercise pre-period as that does seem to help me out. I'm going to do a bit more research on the food topic as I also find that I want to eat a lot more around this time and drink more coffee which generally leaves me feeling grumpy! Take care and really hope you find an answer to help you through this.

A friend of mine started taking anti-depressants and found as a side-effect it really helped her PMT symptoms. Might be worth discussing with your GP.

I hear you ! I had a horrible PMT but Like someone else posted I abstain from wine and ramp up my exercise during PMT and notice a huge difference in being less moody and snappy . I visited a natropath recently she is helping me with my adrenals( we all get can be affected by adrenal fatigue ) and had an allergy test done which helped determine certain foods that were causing imflammation . The Dr also suggested castor oil being rubbed on on my stomach . With some diet change ( tablespoon of flaxseed oil in the morning and no wine for most of the month my husband and I noticed I was less cranky . Good Luck!!

Hi there,
I can personally recommend Claire Zarb, a local homeopath who specialises in hormonal health. She is a very thoughtful and careful practitioner and has helped me and my two children with a number of health issues. Hormonal health is her specialist interest. https://www.clairezarb.com
Best wishes
