Nurseries or Anything else: Desperate new mom to be

Postby Bia Gomes » Mon Mar 26, 2018 5:15 pm

Hi all,

I'm 6 months pregnant of my first child, I'm from Brazil (living here for 2 years now) and I've started to look for nurseries around Wandsworth, where I'm moving to next week.

I had no clue how expensive it was until now and I'm getting a bit desperate because I'm not sure how I'm going to afford a full time nursery to keep my job as a full time employee.

Does anyone have a better idea than nurseries? or know any nursery around Wandsworth that is not that expensive?

Thanks,

Bia

Congratulations on expecting your child.

If you choose to go down the Nursery route, I sent my two children to Mayfield Nursery which is close to Earlsfield and Tooting. We were very pleased with it and it was a bit cheaper than other private nurseries in the area. We found the staff were all lovely and my children were very happy there.

Best of luck!

Congratulations on your pregnancy.

I think you should consider a childminder. They are often a lot more reasonably priced than nurseries.
My daughter goes to a nursery (a hefty £1800 per month) so I have no recommendations to offer but hopefully someone here can help, alternatively Wandsworth Council has a list of qualified childminders on their website.
