Victorian Path

Postby orangeplum » Fri Jun 01, 2018 1:51 pm

We are looking for an expert in laying Victorian tile paths to help us. We had a new path installed 18 months ago (at great expense) and sadly a local tradesman working elsewhere reversed into our gate post, knocked it over and damaged the path. They guy who did it is no longer working so we need someone skilled in paths to remove and retile the damaged bit and preferably rebuild the gatepost too

Any recommendations would be gratefully received as I would like to get it back to its original pristine condition.

Many thanks

So sorry about your path and hope you get some good contacts for repairs ASAP. We too are looking out for someone with knowledge of Victorian tiles, but this time to match and repair our front porch. If I come across anyone I will forward info to you.

So sorry to hear about your rotten luck. We'd be delighted to help put path and gate post back together again - please get in touch if you'd like us to pop round to look at the damage and suggest a way forward.

On a general note, though, you’re so right to be looking for someone who is expert in laying Victorian Mosaic paths to repair your damage. It is a very different skill to indoor tiling and it makes a huge difference to have a specialist in charge – a craftsman who does these all the time and is proud to show you local examples of their work.

We are The London Front Garden Company and we're a one-stop shop for upgrading the front gardens of Victorian and Edwardian houses, including those in Conservation Areas. Please visit www.londonfrontgardencompany.co.uk for more details or call us on 020 8947 7373.

I am in the middle of having a project done by the London Front Garden Company (who just posted above) and am really pleased with the work they are doing. I picked a super complex Victorian path design (more than 60 tiny different shaped tiles per 30cm) to be put onto an awkward shaped path and the tiling and attention to detail is excellent. The guys on site and the owner have been great (accommodating the buggy too!) and the I have appreciated being regularly updated. Would recommend! (I am a genuine customer, not linked to the company in any way).
