Recommendation for restaurant suitable for Kids

Postby mummag » Wed Dec 05, 2018 3:31 pm

Hello,

Can anyone recommend a restaurant suitable for 6 kids and 6 adults to keep them entertained? Ideally with activity nearby to do on 15th Dec? It’s to entertain out of town guests so ideally something fun?

Thanks

I love that big pizza place on Northcote Road near All Bar One.

Great pizzas and lots of space.

How old are the children?

We went to Dishoom just off Carnaby Street recently and it was amazing. Big space and great food.

Not sure how kids friendly though.

I don't think you can beat pizza express although it's quite quick. The order place we used to go a lot to when kits were smaller was Chinatown - love that and food incredible.

Pizza Express and Bill’s? We’re talking about one of the greatest cities on earth and that’s the best you can come up with??

How about the Rain Forest Cafe? It’s not gourmet food but it’s good fun, especially for little ones.

The Half Moon is a big south London pub by Herne Hill. It’s totally child friendly, newly refurbished & had good food.
You have Brockwell Park around the corner & the street food market by the station.
Definitely worth considering & recommended.

The food at the Rainforest Cafe is, IMHO, terribly overpriced. Kids enjoy the place, but you need to book in advance. They don't book all tables, but, if you can't find a slot, I'd recommend against showing up and waiting: 6 kids and 6 adults is quite a crowd, and you risk waiting a long time with kids becoming impatient. If it had been just one parent and one child it would have been different.

It might be easier to choose the after-lunch activity first (South kensington museum, ice rink, etc) and then the restaurant accordingly.

We always go to Mother by Battersea Powerstation when we have a big family group. There's often something on there for kids, and the Pizza is fantastic!

no need to book for lunch, but def for supper. Try Giraffe near the Festival Hall. A good fun place and menu. Lots of similar places, but a party that big, book for anywhere at supper time

By the way, my daughter likes Pizza Express, because she likes pizza in general ))

Not quite sure why Annabel is so sniffy about the Rain Forest Cafe. Admittedly I haven’t been there for a few years but the OP didn’t ask for gourmet food, she asked for somewhere ‘fun’ and I think it fits the bill for small kids. It’s going to cost more than Pizza Express or Wagamama’s but then it’s way more entertaining (if you’re a child!) and certainly good for a special occasion.
