Inappropriate: Dad wears *TIGHT* lycra to school? Local firework display run down. New shops coming to Northcote Road.

Last Updated on : 10th October 2016

Dear NappyValleyNetter,

After seven years of running NappyValleyNet, I was pretty sure I’d seen every type of post.

This week, however, a user called AGL showed me just how wrong I was.

She’s upset because her well-endowed husband insists on wearing his tight Lycra shorts to school drop-off which she believes is inappropriate.

We’ve had a number of comments on both sides of the fence and a couple of emails from very excited mums asking for the address of the school.

OK, I made that last bit up but don’t forget AGL is a real person with a real question so please do bear that in mind when replying!

Here is the rest of what you’ve been talking about on NappyValleyNet:

weekly1-copyThere must be something in the water this week: on top of tight Lycra shorts we’ve had a post advertising naked still life drawing classes for hen weekends! I think everyone should go and have a cold shower and calm down! (click here).

Two interesting pieces of news on the restaurant side: Trinity in Clapham has won their first Michelin Star (congrats!) and there is a rumour that they’re opening up a new venue on Bellevue Road. Oooh, that’s a bit close to Chez Bruce, I wonder what’s the French for “he’s parked his tanks on my lawn”!

This post came in late yesterday but I really wanted to feature it in today’s email. AJErecently lost her son at 24 weeks, she asks for any sensitive funeral director recommendations? It goes without saying that our thoughts are with you AJE and I know that I speak for the whole NVN community when I say that if there is anything else we can help with please don’t hesitate to ask (click here)

DBX is really grumpy about the mobile coverage between the commons. Do you know of a route to better reception? (click here)

Anett is also grumpy but for a different reason: someone hit her car in Salcott Road and then left an illegible note! It was a black Jaguar, did you see anything? (click here).

The Trinity Field’s Fireworks are excellent. But when/where/how much is a question a few of you have asked? Well we have the answers and it’s behind you! Ok, Ok, it’s not panto season yet! (click here)

Abi Elphenstone, Piers Torday and Polly Faber will all be in attendance and although it’s free, places are limited so please do book your place (click here).

Sticking with books the fabby Streatham and Clapham School have their own STREAM Book Festival coming up in November. Malorie Blackman, James Nichol and Judith Kerr will be appearing so together with this, and the Beanstalk Bookfest, you have a bonanza of book based activities! (click here).
