Kids in Space!

Last Updated on : 18th April 2016

We checked out the newest kids play area in South London.

What is it?
Kidspace is a children’s play centre and party venue on the Purley Way near Croydon (with free parking outside).

Kids in Space

What age group is it suitable for?
All kids are welcome and cleverly defined, age-appropriate zones mean children can play safely with their peers. There’s the Toddler Village for under 5s only, but they can also venture in to the main area, when accompanied by an adult.

What’s on offer?
From the high-rise Sky Trail which takes you to the Orb (home of the Black Hole Slide, Thunderball Neon Mazes and a Labyrinth), to the interactive Lightspace and Thunderball Arena, there’s plenty to keep little legs busy. Hit the track at the Mini Go-Karts, test their ability on the Climbing Wall and run the Gauntlet to the Trampolines.

Can I have a party here?
From Teddy Bear Workshops to Laser Tag as well as general free play, Kidspace is a party venue dream. With different packages on offer you can sit back and let them do all the hard work – they’ll provide all the refreshments as well.

Food and drink?
There’s pizza, burgers, pasta, paninis, salads and loads of drinks such as smoothies, juice, slushies and tea and coffee.

Kids verdict
I had two seven-year-old boys and two ten-year-old girls with me. The boys loved it – they would’ve stayed beyond the allocated time slot (about two hours) and enjoyed chilling out with the table top games on offer too. The girls worked their way round pretty quickly and enjoyed the large, bright and airy cafe space to relax in as well.

from £6.75 for an off-peak under 3.
