Mice overrun SW18 food store. Promotion blocked due to pregnancy – help! Bowling Green Cafe to close

Last Updated on : 28th November 2016

Dear NappyValleyNetter,

Every November my children’s primary school posts out a “review of the year” to both their current and ex- pupil’s families.

It’s a beautiful publication, packed full of gorgeous photos and school news.

But it’s the children’s quotes on the inside back cover which are always my favorite part.

Teacher” “What is the word for smooth flowing music?”

Pupil: “Gelato”

And this quote wasn’t the only one with a food theme.

Teacher” “What is your favorite percussion instrument?”

Pupil: “Ciabatta”

But there was one, for me, stand out quote which would have resonated with my two, especially after last Friday evening…

Teacher: “Homework tonight is to do something really lovely for your mummy and tell me what it was.”

Pupil: “You could go to bed early so it will help with mummy’s hangover”

Here is what you’ve been talking about on NappyValleyNet:

weekly1A “mouse infested” food store in Earlsfield was forced to close immediately and has been fined £16,000. Eurrgghh! (click here).

The Bowling Green Cafe is to close. That’s a real shame and bearing in mind how much Lambeth now want for the lease I’m not at all surprised (click here)

We’ve had an email from the local police warning of an increase of fraud in SW London due to identify theft. This is particularly worrying as it’s a local warning and so definitely worth a read (click here).

And onto much happier news. Our amazing “Win a Nappy Valley Christmas Competition” has just gone live. One lucky user will win EVERYTHING they need for Christmas. Turkey, tree, wine, chocolates, pampering, babysitting, wreath plus loads more! One lucky person will win it ALL! Click here for more details!

Julian Tennis Coach is one of our most brilliant users and he’s just posted a really useful note about a free cooking course for 16-25 year olds courtesy of the Princes Trust. Thanks Julian! (click here). He’s also posted about some fabby Xmas presents for tennis players. Double thanks! (click here).

weekly1AThome is really struggling with a lack sleep. Can you suggest a mindfullness/CBT course that might help? (click here)

Sticking with aupairs, CNmum wonders if she needs an au pair contract? (click here)

Now I REALLY hope we can help with this problem! 3LM’s little one has a booking with Santa at the Duke Of York Grotto on the 10th of December BUT she’s been invited to a party on the same day. And now the grotto has now more Santa slots. Anyone out there feeling “elf-ful” and able to swap? (click here).
